  • Meridian Leisure Centre open its doors to the public

    Meridian Leisure CentreThe Meridian Leisure Centre opened its doors to the public early in February, to much acclaim.  Thousands of people have made use of the facility already.  The centre boasts a state of the art fitness suite, competition sized swimming pool as well as function rooms, dance studio and IT suite for use by pupils of Monks Dyke Technology College.

    Seymour and Castle are proud to be involved in such a project, particularly the fact that they completed their works on time and within budget.


  • Electrical Apprentice of the Year 2009
    23rd December 2009

    Jonathan Willson has achieved yet another great award by winning the Electrical Apprentice of the Year 2009 award, sponsored by the NICEIC, through the Electrical Times.  For this hard fought award Jonathan was considered to be an "outstanding candidate" due to his diligence, temperament, practical and academic abilities.

  • Contracts awarded to Seymour and Castle
    21st December 2009

    Seymour and Castle have recently been awarded the following contracts:-

    6 new sports pavilions for Leicester City Council, working in partnership with Derry Ltd. 

    New extension to Friskney Primary School. 

    Working in conjunction with New Linx Housing Trust to upgrade fire alarm systems in residential units in the Lincolnshire region.

    Lincoln City Hall office refurbishment, phases 1 and 2.

    Phase 2 fit out of Floor B, Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby.

     


  • East Midlands Apprentice of the Year 2009 won by Seymour and Castle employee
    11th November 2009

    Jonathan Willson winning JTL Regional Apprentice of the YearOnce again Jonathan Willson has made the directors and all the team at Seymour and Castle very proud, by winning the JTL Apprentice of the Year 2009 for the East Midland Region.  Jonathan was presented with his award and a cheque for £700 at the regional award ceremony on Thursday 5th November at Pride Park Stadium, the home of Derby County Football Club.  He has now been invited to attend the JTL National Award Ceremony at the Tower of London on the 24th February 2010, where the national winner will be selected from the 10 regional winners.  The winner of this prestigious award will not only recieve an award, but also a cheque for £1500.  We wish Jonathan every success for this event. 

    This is on top of another great achievement last month when Jonathan won the Electrical Industry Awards 2009, Electrical Apprentice of the Year.  A fantastic achievement for both Jonathan and Seymour and Castle.  A great year for Jonathan, our congratulations on all his successes.

     


  • Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth due to open in February

    The new Louth Leisure Centre, named the Meridian Centre by local councillors, is due to open its doors to the public early in February 2010.  This development will offer local people use of its superb facilities as iIt contains a state of the art fitness suite as well as a competition sized swimming pool for use by local clubs and schools as well as the general public.  There is also a large sports hall which can be used for badminton, cricket training, football, as well as a dance studio and IT suite for use by Monks Dyke Technology College.

    Seymour and Castle are proud to have delivered this contract on time and within budget.


  • Jonathan Willson Wins Electrical Industry Award

    Jonathan Willson, in his last year of apprenticeship has won a prestigious national award.  Jonathan has recently been announced as the Electrical Apprentice of the Year 2009 in the Electrical Industry Awards 2009 for the Electrical Times.  The November issue of the Electrical Times will feature a special supplement highlighting Jonathan's achievement.  Our congratulations go out to Jonathan on yet another award.  He must certainly be top of the list for the best young apprenctice that Seymour and Castle have ever had the pleasure to employ and we hope he will go all the way to the top within the company.  Jonathan has also once again reached the top ten of the Young Apprentice of the Year for the East Midland Region, the winner of which will go forward to the National Awards to be held in London.  The winner will be announced at the Regional award ceremony to be held in November, which Jonathan will attend with the company directors.  We wish him every success.


  • Major refurbishment coming to Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital

    Seymour and Castle are delighted to have been chosen do work on the refurbishment of the B floor at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby.  This 18 month contract will see the B floor totally upgraded in both electrics and design, giving the hospital a fresh new look.  Completion should take place in early 2011. 


  • Refurbishment of Seacroft Motors at Mablethorpe
    23rd October 2009

    Seymour and Castle are delighted to have been awarded the electrical contract, alongside local builder Will Coffey, for the refurbishment of the Ford garage, Seacroft Motors, in Mablethorpe.   


  • New van fleet for Seymour and Castle
    22nd October 2009

    Seymour and Castle have just taken delivery of a new fleet of 13 vans to replace some of the older vehicles.  The new vehicles are VW Combo vans instead of Vauxhall, which are a better utility vehicle for the electrical industry.  This confirms the directors commitment to the future development and success of the company.


  • New Louth Leisure Centre set to open on 2nd January 2010
    30th September 2009

    The new Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth is set to open to the public on 2nd January 2010.  Work has been ongoing all year with the project nearing its completion.  The building is almost complete, with the groundworks outside being prepared for the finishing touches.  Seymour and Castle are looking forward to the job reaching a successful conclusion,  and to the grand opening in the New Year.


  • Bowled over by Seymour & Castle
    26th September 2009

    The whole team at Seymour & Castle recently enjoyed a bowling evening at Cleethorpes Bowling Alley.  This event is aimed as a team building exercise as well as a fun night out.  Every member of Seymour and Castle are invited to attend, with teams being set up on the night to play for the trophy.  Some excellent bowling created some very high scores, with the winning team, the highest individual score and the most strikes walking away with a prize.  A good night was had by all who attended.


  • Scunthorpe General Hospital revamp in progress
    8th September 2009

    Scunthorpe General Hospital is currently undergoing a refurbishment to the Gynaecological and Childrens Facilities.  Seymour and Castle are pleased to be involved in this project which will see a major facelift of these facilities.  Works are due to be completed in May next year.

     


  • Clifton Park 1st phase is completed
    29th June 2009

    June 2009 sees the completion of the Activity Building at Clifton Park, Rotherham, for Rotherham City Council.  This is the first phase of a large regeneration project which sees us working alongside UCS Civils.


  • Apprentices pass with flying colours
    26th June 2009

    Three of our young apprentices have recently passed their exams to become fully qualified electricians.  We congratulate Jonathan Willson, Matthew Addison and Barry Loose on their success.


  • Everest conquered by Lincolnshire man
    14th April 2009

    Sponsored by Seymour and Castle as well as many others, Roger Parker of RPA Mechanical & Electrical Engineers successfully climbed up the north column of Mount Everest in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.  Congratulations to Roger on his outstanding achievement.


  • 10th Annual Dinner Dance
    31st March 2009

    Seymour and Castle recently enjoyed its 10th annual dinner dance at the Kenwick Park Hotel in Louth.  The dinner dance is a tradition started when Chris Myers and Andrew Berry took over 10 years ago, and is enjoyed by all those who attend.  All employees are invited, along with their partners, and this year, a splendid meal was followed by live music by local group, Hard Times, whose drummer used to work for Seymours, and dancing to the resident disco. 


  • New Housing Association contract secured
    18th March 2009

    Seymour and Castle have recently secured a contract for a new 48 dwelling assisted housing scheme in Grantham, working with Lindum Construction for Lace Housing Association.  This will supply a variety of different dwellings for local people.


  • Seymour Castle Launch New Website

    Seymour and Castle welcome you to our new website.  We have been working hard to produce a new updated website, which will give information of projects we have been associated with, as well as forthcoming projects.  There will be regular updates to our news items, and facility to meet our staff.


  • Retirement of Seymours faithful secretary
    12th January 2009

    Ann Adlam recently took early retirement after many years faithful service to Seymour and Castle.  Ann joined the company 29 years ago, with original owners, Rob Seymour and Brian Castle.  Although she was sad to be leaving, Ann left with good wishes from many friends and colleagues, both old and new, with several farewell bashes and lots of champagne!!  Ann is currently enjoying her leaving gift of a new greenhouse, as well as indulging her favourite hobby of shopping for shoes!!


  • Seymour & Castle win prestigious Louth Leisure Centre Contract

    Seymour and Castle have been appointed main electrical contractor for the new Louth Leisure Centre project.  This will bring a much needed and long awaited facility to the town.

    Work has already started on the infrastructure, with Seymour and Castle due to start works sometime early in 2009.

    We will keep you posted of news and pictures of progress as the project develops.


  • Jonathan Willson up for young apprentice award for 3rd time
    21st October 2008

    Jonathan Willson, Seymour and Castle's star apprentice, was nominated yet again for an award for young apprentices.  He was ranked in the top ten apprentices within the East Midlands Area.  Jonathon was hoping to make this his hat-trick but sadly, the award went to someone else this year, but well done to Jonathon for making the top ten.


  • New Wolds College opens
    30th September 2008

    Works have been completed on the New Louth Wolds College, including those services done by Seymour and Castle.  This facility was officially opened by the Princess Royal, Princess Anne.  The new college offers a diversity of courses for young and old alike.  Seymour and Castle are proud to be involved in such a much needed project.


  • New Sports Pavilion for Louth
    17th September 2008

    Seymour and Castle are delighted to have completed their part of the new Louth Sports Pavilion.  This sports pavilion, located on the London Road in Louth, is a welcome improvement to the sporting facilities offered, with new changing rooms, store rooms, and multi use hall. The newly laid pitch should be ready to be played on in the summer, ready for the new cricket season, and for the football season starting in August.


  • New College for Louth
    23rd November 2007

    Seymour and Castle secure the order for Louth's New Wolds College on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council.  This project will see the arrival of a much needed facility in the town.  Situated behind Cordeaux Secondary School, the college will offer many new courses to the young people of the area.


  • New Company Chairman for Seymour and Castle
    21st November 2007

    Chris Myers has accepted the role as Company Chairman with Seymour and Castle.  Chris recently decided to cut back his day to day role as company director, but retains an active and supporting role in retaining the company's excellent performance.


  • Jonathon Wins Award for Second Year!
    17th October 2007

    Young Jonathan Willson, a second year apprentice with Seymour and Castle, has won a National Award for Young Apprentices, for the second year on the trot.  Jonathan scooped the Nottingham and Lincolnshire Apprentice of the Year award in a blaze of glory.  Seymour and Castle directors are incredibly proud of his talents, and hope that he has a long and fruitful career within the company.


  • New Kit for Louth Old Boys Under 16's
    7th August 2007

    Louth Old Boys football team have just received their new football kit, sponsored by Seymour and Castle.  Andrew Berry, Managing Director of Seymour & Castle, presented their manager with the new strip as the season begins.  Seymour and Castle have been sponsoring this team for many years, and wish the team every success in this years league.


  • Seymour and Castle Apprentice wins Award
    18th October 2006

    Jonathon Wilson, a first year apprentice with Seymour and Castle, has won a prestigious award for his efforts.  Jonathon beat of hundreds of contenders to grab the East Midlands Area Apprentice of the Year Award.  The company directors were at the award ceremony to watch Jonathon collect his award, and are very proud of this young man's achievements.


  • New head office for Longhurst Housing
    22nd June 2006

    Longhurst Housing, a national housing association, have moved their head office to new premises in Boston.  Seymour and Castle were delighted to be entrusted with the electrical installation for this venture.


  • Burton Waters grows once more.
    22nd September 2005

    Seymour and Castle have just completed another successful phase on the prestigious Burton Waters Marina Project near Lincoln.  A spokesman said that the company were very happy with the continued success and growth of the project, and are proud to be associated with such an innovative development.


  • New factory for Louth
    9th November 2004

    Electrical works have been completed by Seymour and Castle on the new, state of the art, Fenland Laundry factory in Louth.  The company are extremely proud of their involvement in helping to bring new jobs into the local area.


  • Another new Director for Seymour & Castle
    12th May 2003

    The Directors of Seymour and Castle are delighted to announce the appointment of a new Director to join their rapidly expanding team.  The company welcomes Martin Tubb as Director of Design to head up the new Design Department, so the company can now offer a complete design and buiid service for electrical installations.  


  • Crop Drying Plant up and running.
    15th July 2002

    Seymour and Castle complete electrical works on the new Hi-tech Crop Drying Plant for Whartons Agriculture.   


  • Award for Seymour and Castle
    10th October 2001

    Seymour and Castle were honoured to receive a Civic Trust Award for their contribution to the new Louth Bus Station project.  A spokesman said the company directors "were delighted" to receive this award.


  • Big Move for Seymour and Castle
    14th July 2001

    Seymour and Castle have recently relocated their business to new premises on Tattershall Way in Louth after 30 years of trading from the old premises at Riverhead in Louth.  The new directors hope this will assist in the expansion of the company which, in the three years since they took over the business from original owners, Brian Castle and Rob Seymour, has already grown to the point that the Riverhead premises could no longer cope. 


  • New Bus Station for Louth
    17th August 2000

    The East Lindsey District Council unveil a new bus station for the town of Louth, with the signature clock tower and all other electrical installations completed by Seymour & Castle.


  • Salvation Army open new hall.
    14th September 1999

    The Salvation Army open a new hall in Louth.  Seymour and Castle are delighted with their involvement, with the project being completed both within the time scale and budget.


  • Honda Race team moves to Lincolnshire
    25th August 1999

    The Honda Race team opens it's new offices in Louth this month.  Seymour and Castle were delighted to be entrusted with the electrical installation for this new venture.

    Martin Wood rejoins his old company after many years away when he is appointed as Director of Projects. 


  • New owners for Seymour and Castle

    Brian and Pat Castle hand over the reigns to the new owners of Seymour & Castle, Mssrs Andrew Berry and Chris Myers.
